THE BÁ DUATHLON

A west coast GIANT debuting in 2025! This epic event begins with an 18-mile mountainous run before merging into the Bá Sportive’s iconic Bealach Na Bá ride. Finish in Kinlochewe—tired, accomplished, and in awe of the landscape!

THE BÁ SPORTIVE

A tough 90-mile ride in Scotland’s rugged North West, featuring the UK’s biggest road climb: Bealach Na Bá. Enjoy a 626-meter ascent on a CLOSED ROAD for the full 11mile pass! The route is tough, rugged, and full of WOWS!

TOP 10 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE TAKING ON THE BÁ DUATHLON

Rolling start from 5:00 to 6:30 AM (runners starting early will need a head torch).
Bike drop-off will take place in the morning of the event and will be transported to transition at Coulags.
Bike transition at Coulags between 10:00 and 10:30 AM.
Closed road start at Tornapress for riders between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
Closed road reopens to vehicles at 1:30 PM (those going up the hill later may encounter vehicles on the descent).
Minimum experience required to look after yourself in the hills, make sure you’re conditioned to the distance and rough weather in mountainous environments.
Mountain Rescue will be covering hill safety, but everyone needs to carry a minimum amount of kit including waterproofs, hat, gloves and thermal layer ( more info nearer the time).
Low cycle route option available if you’ve overcooked the run!
Aid stations on run & ride for refueling and hydration.
Route will be clearly marked, and GPX files will be sent out in advance.

TOP 10 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE TAKING ON THE BÁ SPORTIVE

Rolling start between 9:00 and 9:30 AM.
Closed road start at Tornapress available for riders between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
Closed road reopens to vehicles at 1:30 PM.
4 aid stations on the route for refueling and hydration.
Sweep wagon will tail the group to pick up any riders in need of assistance.
Low route option for bad weather conditions, bypassing the Bealach.
Low route option for riders not feeling up to the hill on the day.
Route will be clearly marked, and GPX files will be sent out in advance.
Closed road climb will be timed (optional) for those aiming for QOM/KOM, but let's face it — you're all QOMs/KOMs in our eyes!
Registration opens Friday evening and Saturday morning in Kinlochewe.
